This spot, just 4 km from the summit, offers the best close-up views of Merapi when the weather is clear. The abandoned bunker stands as a silent reminder of past eruptions and dramatic escapes.

🛑 Gendol Cliff (Tebing Gendol)

A dramatic lava cliff created by the eruption. Here, you'll witness local activity—dozens of trucks and workers mining volcanic sand and stones daily.
